Welcome to the site!! No worries on the ballast. Get with Chpthril and he can set you up with everything you need. You have a great boat there, and it can be easily set up to put out a great wave. Search some of the Surfdad threads, he had a 23V. You will love surfing. As far as the racks are concerned they have positives and negatives. Had to replace my tower with a Samson and am still getting used to the forks sticking out the side. They are real rope catchers out there vs the top mounted racks. Good luck with the new ride.

laserfish - Thanks for the advice, I started clicking through some of Surfdad's threads and he had some awesome pictures surfing... I'd like to find someone next year that has a ballast system and at least try surfing before I invest in a ballast system... although I keep hearing that everyone loves it... The only main reason I do not like the top mounted racks is because if you get out of the water and want to put them back on the rack, they drip all over everyone and gets annoying. I did not think about the rope catching though, that's a good point.

Try to meet up with local surfers and barrow a board. You might even be able to barrow a sac and pump. If not, invite along about 6-8 buds and stack then all in the corner. This will get you a surfable wake for starters.

We did not worry about the drips. Summer it cooled you off if the bimini was not up. Both places have their positive and negative attributes.

Haha yeah I know, but unfortunately we bought the boat late in the season so the water temps were in low 70s so my wife was a little colder than expected. I am sure middle of the summer next year, or when we have the bimini top up it won't be a problem all...

oh ok low 70's. that's pretty rough on the girl I know. I guess it's what your used to. Monday we went out in 57 degree water..and yesterday it was a toasty 58.4. There was no complainin' though cause we were SURFING. The highest it hit this summer was 68..smokin hot and nobody wore any neoprene

Moose he is lives in Kentucky.... They don't know how to surf in Kentucky. LOL

I KID, I KID.... My wife's family lives in Kentucky, and I am from Dayton Ohio. So it's natural for me to poke fun.

However, here is an interesting fact about Kentucky:
It is illegal to fish with a bow and arrow in Kentucky.

That is totally false. Bowfishing is a huge sport here in Kentucky. And we do know how to surf.

We go on Kentucky lake mostly, do you ever come out that way? I'm open to meeting up and making some new friends.

We mainly stay on Barkley, around Eddie Creek or Kuttawa.
