    Electrical problem

I have had an intermittent electrical problem that would shut the engine down. Restart attempts produced nothing. Then, suddenly everything would work fine. I found the quick connect terminal on the 20a breaker that I think is for the main ignition circuit to be a little loose. It was very easy to pull off so I squeezed the terminal to get a tight fit and reattached it. The ignition has worked perfectly since. What is the likelyhood that I have solved the problem as I am concerned about my wife (and me!) getting stranded again? Thanks.

There was another thread about that same crimped wire coming loose. I think you solved that problem.

I haven't seen the wiring diagrams for the boat but a loose terminal will give that interimitted problem, it sounds like you have fix the problem. I'm sparky by trade. You might want to get someone with some electrical knowledge to have a look.

With fingers crossed, I think I found the electrical problem in the main ignition breaker connection. The boat has performed perfectly since I tightened that connection. I am going to take it in for a computer check to see if there have been error codes caused by another component somewhere.

Latest update. The problem happened again! I think I have FINALLY found the culprit. There is a cheap automotive fuse holder near the battery switch that when moved can lose connectivity. It looks like new with no signs of corrosion, etc, but wiggling it will cause the ignition to cut out. I am replacing it with a marine grade spade type fuse holder.
