    Time to Sell...

And Please dont call me a traitor...

Well after completing a bunch of upgrades, a few trips to the service shop for some warranty work our boat (2006 24V) is running like a top.

BUT... We are now looking to sell our boat.

Our boat is a huge part of our life style up here at the lake so I need to have something lined up, and hope the timing works out. I am thinking of a '07-08 or newer RZ4, or even (dont swear at me) a 2007-08 or newer Wakesetter VLX or a 23LSV.

A friend at the lake just bought a 08 VLX and My son and I had a chance to see it perform this weekend and it looked pretty sweet. My son was really impressed with it after a ride. I like the idea of a Malibu solely because we do not have a local Tige dealer anymore, and Malibu is a quality product as well. On the other hand I really like the looks of the RZ4, and of course I am familiar with the Tige product and generally happy with the quality. The one thing that struck us was the illusion type tower and the cockpit rome in the shorter VLX.

Just wondering, and I am not sure if this is the case but was there a hull design issue with the RZ4 hull in its early years?

Can anyone give some insight to comparing the older 06 24V and the newer RZ4's??.....Any pros or cons you could share of the '06 24V vs. RZ4 vs VLX or 23 LSV

    Thanks

    What size VLX?

The current RZ4 is the same hull as the first RZ4 in 08. No hull issues that im aware of. If wake quality is your goal, go down to the RZ2 or 22Ve. must easier to get a great surf and board wake.

The 24V hull and RZ4 hulls are different. The old "V" hull was discontinued when the Ve was released. The Ve/RZ hull had more rocker then V.

For surfing, gotta give the nod to the Tige, although the 21VLX throws very nice surf wake.

Wakeboarding is more important than a surf wake. Because we now have the '06 24V I thought maybe we might be disappointed in the interior being a little smaller.

Big wake is the goal hands down. Also I kind of like the pickle type bow on the newer boats.

Best wakesurfing boat out is the Malibu 247 (please don't argue all my pro buddies say the same thing. They made them back in 07. Also probably the best wakeboard boat I have seen and I have been on a lot of boats. They came stock with a power wedge and decent ballast. You start adding weight and the wake gets huge. If I could afford any boat I would pick a 247 with custom sacs for surfing. My 24v is probably the 2nd best wave I have seen but the wakeboard wake isn't the greatist.

I know the nautique 230 is also an amazing wakeboard boat.

Dave - Is there a reason for the 24' boat? What about an RZ2?
Contrary to Duff's comments, my understanding is that the RZ2 is an awesome wake and wave machine.

Also, curious, why all the boats in such a short span? Why spend the money to fix them up pay far more than you will ever make back in upgrades just to sell?

Rz2 is a great surf and wakeboard machine! Don't get me wrong and I love the style and lines of the boat. A sacked out rz2 doesn't compare to a sacked out 247. We ran a wakeboard competition on saturday with a new 2011 247 and stock ballast full and 8 people on board and the wake was the biggest thing I have ever seen. Also stanely wheelhouses 247 with custom sacs is the biggest wave most if not all of the pro wakesurfers have seen.

I just enjoy fixing up boats by doing upgrades. I also want to work towards to the boat that we want to keep for a long time.

Upgrading the boats is half the fun for me! Figuring out new and better ways to plumb ballast, tweaks to make the wave better etc!

My buddy just bought a 09 23 LSV with the Diamond hull and so far prefers to ride behind our RZ2. Wakeboarding.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

All the wakes are so different, some are rampy, steep etc... kind of comes down to personal preference. I like having a bigger boat, about the same gas use and doesn't feel as crowded. I will never go below 24 again. Someday maybe I will buy an x80 and try and sink it with 4k in ballast!

                              That's BS.

From the research he did is that the wake is only affected above 22 mph between the diamond & the wake hull
