    Noise in Reverse

I just bought a 2004 24V Riders Edition, and just wondered if a gear whine is normal in reverse. I haven't owned a V-drive or a direct drive boat before so this is new. As a heavy equipment mechanic, I'm trying not to pull it out, and tear into it to see if something is wrong with it!! just trying to find out if it's normal....
    Thanks

              Beautiful boat!
I'd rather be a conservative nut job than a liberal with no nuts and no job.
