    2012 Tige Updates

Tony Fussel brought a 2012 up to Wyoming for the annual Wakeboard and Waterski Specialty Owers Reunion and I got a chance to talk to him and snap a few pictures. I apologize for the quality, we forgot our real camera so I had to use my iPhone.

    New for 2012
    • Dash is covered in a new material - looks/feels great in person and has no glare on the windshield
    • Diamond stitched vinyl - very nice looking in person
    • New Throttle lever
    • New Swimstep brackets
    • Wetsounds Rev speakers
    • Surprise that will be announced in the weeks to come It will be a hit! Lips are sealed

Thanks to Tony and Tige for coming out! I got a chance to drive the boat, wakeboard and wakesurf behind it. It was a lot of fun. I was very impressed with the RZR's surf wave and I honestly feel that the factory surf ballast option on the RZR is enough for riders up to through the intermediate level. It has a nice long pocket, lots of push and a solid ramp and height.

On the 3rd pic here, the dark gray/black material is the same as what the dash is covered in.

The new shift lever is nice! It was 98 degrees and the lever was in the sun and heat wasn't a problem, I was quite surprised.

Did they have the new "big secret" there? I was unaware of the new dash material. Did you opperate the new platform brackets? From what I could tell, they were not going to work with an FAE, at least not with their intended design

          Thanks the sneak peeks.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Has anyone determined for sure whether the underside of the swim platform affects the wakesurfing wake in a negative way? If they have, why doesn't Tige make a swim platform that is filled in underneathe with a light weight material and then some kind of hardener on the bottom that could take a beating, instead of producing a swim platform with a "LIP" again? I see this one has another nice (bad) size lip on it.

I think I have seen some material like that recently on another boat...looks very durable. I think that will be a good feature on the new boats.

Since you got a chance to drive it, how was the throttle lever to operate the taps with??

Is the tower taller on the 12's? Or is that just my eyes playing tricks on me?

The new secret was not there.

Did not operate the swim platform. You don't need an FAE if you have a cat on the engine.

The surf wave is very clean on the RZR, I didn't feel like any mods would be necessary to anything. I rode a LF Fish that was already on the boat and almost rode a 3 on it on my first try. The wave is great!
Tower is not taller. I'm 6'1" and I can hit my head on it.

The throttle lever is great! The TAPS works just like it does on every Tige I have driven. Not sure how much it costs or if it would fit, but I would like to have that on my boat!

I have to tell you guys, this new interior looks so good in person. My wife and I talked about it several times on the way home because it really grabs your attention!

Thanks for the pictures Timmy. That is a sharp looking boat and the interior is very nice. Maybe we can get a group buy on the new shifter?! Any pictures of the event?

I somehow doubt we will ever see eye to eye on the FAE. I just don't like sucking exhaust from an internal combustion engine no matter what flavor.

I see the need for it on non-cat engines but on these newer ones with cats, you will never convince me that it is needed.

That interior looks way to busy with the color's...IMO

I want a throttle lever like that!
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....
