Transmission/throttle issue

We have an 06 20v and have started having problems with the transmission not going into gear. When you go to put boat in gear to pull up a skier/wake boarder it does not go into gear, just idles at slow speed. Have to turn boat off, restart (sometimes a few times) for it to finally "catch" when you put it in gear. Has anyone else had this problem and what ended up to be the solution? Help!!!

Had a similar problem on my '07 20v a year ago and had to replace the sensor at the throttle handle. Apparently a bad part during that mfg period. Props to this forum for getting me fixed up. Part is made by BEI Sensors in Irvine,CA Model #9861. Call Mouser Electronics and order part#9861R5KL2.0 for about $60. Plugs onto your throttle lever with a couple small bolts. Worth a try.
