Swim Step Depth...Water in the boat?

How far should the swim step be... I feel that mine sits too low like the boat is really loaded down.. I neve take my drain plug out but that is because there is never any water in the bilge area.. I use the bilge to pump it out if there is any when I pull her outta the water and she is on an incline... There aren't any other drains that I need to remove is there? Like when I release the water from the cooler... that water goes to the bilge area right...? or straight out the bottom of the boat.. I have been running my boat for about 3 years so I should know this by now but I have been reading some threads about all these other drain plugs and what not so it got me thinking.. the boat feels like she is loaded down and I think it is the prop.. but that doesn't explain why the swim step sits an inch below the water...

I'm at work now.. wont be back on the water until Saturday maybe.. my explanation not helpful enough.. I'm asking about drains... and my swim step sitting to low.. especially if you're standing on it.. about 3-4 inches under water... praying to God I don't have water in the hull somewhere..

In my very NON-expert opinion 3-4 inchs underwater in not normal unless you have ballast filled. just my

so is there another area that water weight could be collecting or am I just analyzing the situation? I sould think any water that cam over board at the bow would evaporate or go to the back somehow.. there is never water in there though and the carpet is always dry.. Then when you lift up the storage are where the fuel tank is.. that is all you can see.. the fuel tank.. im going to open that area up tonight and see if there is any water sitting in there..

There are no other areas for water. When I am standing on my swim deck with the boat empty it will be an inch or two under the water. With the boat totally empty, the top of the deck is even with or a little below the surface. Hope that helps.

Ya.. there's no place for the water to go on a Tige.. let that worry go.
That is low, but the Tige's of that era had pretty low swimsteps.

I consider my boat's age plus mine to be my real age.. so I'm actualls 36...

I think you are OK. I have an '01 21V Riders Edition and the swim step is low. Probably in the water a couple of inches. At first I thought it was a little odd, but I checked everything out, and everything is water tight. Plus the family loves it because it makes getting out of the water easier. Below is a picture. You can see my nephew's hand under the water a bit.
