What component is this?

I was hoping someone could help me identify this part on my 2006 22V and possibly provide a part number or manufacturer. It is located on the port side of the boat, front of the engine exactly as in the picture below. It is a marine power 5.7L similar to the one pictured. A fuel line exits the Carter electric pump and enters this part before going to the fuel rail. I has an electrical connector on the top and has coolant lines connected to it. I also noticed a drain plug (?) on the bottom.

I do not see it on any of the diagrams in the engine owner's manual. I have tried several searches looking for pictures of it and this one from the marine power website is the only one. I am assuming it is some kind of high pressure fuel pump, but it may be something else. Either way I am pretty sure that it needs replacing because water leaks out from around the bottom seam when the engine is running.

The bottom part that unscrews houses the fuel water seperator.

I thought that initially but was thrown when I couldn't get the barrel to turn. Maybe I just need to apply some more muscle.

I have never changed mine, but I hear they are extremely tight.

Ok, I went out and looked at it again. Some how I didn't notice the tag on the wiring harness before that says "FORD FUEL PUMP." So I am assuming that it is a fuel pump/fuel water separator, right? The cooling hoses connect to bottom of it and it does not appear to screw together as a unit.

Can it be disassembled and reassembled to fix my issue, or am I looking at replacing the whole thing?

There is a cartridge type filter in there.If your issue is starving for fuel or just maintenance it will.IT probably has a plug with an oring on the bottom of it.

My issue is that it is leaking water from around the seam at the bottom of the unit when the engine is running. I am tempted to disassemble the whole port aft end of the engine compartment, remove the component and disassemble it. But figured that it would all be in vain if it wasn't designed to be taken apart. I was hoping to find blown o-ring or something simple like that. The engine is running fine, at the moment. Obviously, I don't want to risk any damage by continuing to run it until I know what is wrong.

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed. I guess I knew what I was supposed to be searching for, I would have found it myself. Now I just need to order that filter.
