I still have yet to hear if the boat went to the dealer to be checked out.
I dont care if the boat cost 10 dollars or 60,000 customer service still starts at the dealership, I cant call Ford or Dodge corperate and get them to answer technical questions, they wouldnt have techs availble to the consumer, only to their dealer network.

You pull the intake side of the hose off and clean out any debree, in worst case senerios we pull both intake and outlet and flush it out, its inch and a quarter hose it takes alot to clog it tottaly and unless you get stuck in the weeds.

I'll never buy a second Dodge. After 3 tranny swaps, they still wouldn't buy it back and I was left drivin' it around like Fred Flinstone.
          Waiting for another good one!

Did you happen to call chrysler? dodge had some Under machined Lip seals on the 47re's that cause premature failures. If you had maintance records they would have happly covered and payed for all expenses

Here's what youre missing. Ok.. Im driving down the lake... I see some small debris in the water go by. I couldnt avoid it, but then it was very minor in size. 10 minutes later, my alarm goes off. Immediately following the alarm, the boat gurgles, sputters and dies. And I mean DEAD. I open the engine cover and the boat is hot as a popcorn fart in a greased skillet. Now, there was no time in between the time it sucked up the sticks and $hit in the intake and when it died for me to run clean out the transmission cooler. It happened that fast. You keep saying how I can clean the transmission cooler.. you keep saying it could be prevented. NO... IT COULD NOT.

Now please let it the fu@# go.. ok?

Wouldn't the engine temperature gauge located on your dash be in excess of 170 degrees Fahrenheit? Not trying to add fuel to the flame here but most of the boats I have rode on have temperature gauges that can be monitored before the alarm goes off.

Wicked, hope that you get the boat back onto the water and you are happy again. Sorry for the hijack.

Sure... when you rode in that boat, did you watch the gauge the whole time... or any of the time? I was cruising... 25 mph, listening to music and site seeing. It was over before I knew it.

This is my point that no one is understanding... it happened almost instantly. A "limp-mode" equipped boat would have shut down. My boat has no limp-mode... AND .. it has no sea strainer to prevent it from happening.

Dead horse... beat beat beat.. dead horse.

I understand where you are coming from and thank you for bringing it up the attention of others. You have a very solid point.

However, I and many of my friends do look at the gauge regularly so this doesn't happen even know we have a limp mode. The gauges are there for a reasno. To look and observe the main issues that a boat might occur during an outing. Now, the question is if we are able to see what else is occurring while monitoring the gauges. Yes we all have fun and monitor it. Being a group computer professionals, we have learn to multitask.
