Dont need to get all heated gentlemen this is my opinion and I think there support $ucks! Im glad all your boats are working well
Sounds like QC could use a little clean up. Just to play devil's advocate though, I haven't had hardly chit go wrong with my boat. Ya, it had a crappy tower but, it never broke. I blew a TAPS ram but the was replaced free of charge by Bennett after it was out of warranty. Every other factory system still in that boat still works perfect. My buddy's 06 22Ve hasn't had any problems either. Except that big hole his wife put in the side of it their second time out. Fortunately we got a real good glass guy. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Sorry for your troubles...
Dude, I think anyone who has ever bought a boat feels your pain. I once heard the rule of thumb is this; if you can flush a hundred dollar bill down the toilet...not once, not twice..but three times.. and still be ready to do it again.. then go buy a boat.. sounds like you know what you’re talking about with all of the work you have been doing and maybe it will payoff... So I just wanted you to know that I (WE) understand your anger and frustration, and your need to ‘vent’… so to speak.
On the contrary, you come off as a complete prick and I think I can speak on behalf of the website and say that you won't be getting any sympathy from the more than content Tige owners here... Good luck with your next boat and I'm sure since you know so much about engines and 'what not' you will do your Homework BEFORE your next purchase. You can slam Tige all you want but you can find problems with any boat, new or used. Best of luck and by no means do I mean to insult you.

Sorry to hear about your trouble.I'm sure their is a technician or mechanic out there somewhere that could fix your boat.I often tell consumers that low mileage or hours is not always a good thing. It means the owner just let it sit and didn't use it.Sure it seemed like it was a good deal, low hours low price. But that's almost a sure indicator yearly maintenance wasn't done.I have owned PCM engines before and i currently have one.The only other person i have seen that seemed as upset as you are with PCM had a Nautique and tried to repair it themselves. When they couldn't it was Nautiques fault. All i'm saying is i understand your frustration, but all boats have problems.Finding a good dealership with a top notch mechanic is paramount.Hopefully this will happen for you and you will be happy again.GOOD LUCK!I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Just bought a 1997 pre2002 and love it. It had 667 hours on it with all the service records. Ran it in the drive way and checked the fluids before I bought it. Very low hours is not a good thing on older mechanical toys. Not too many people drive 10+ year old cars, but many buy 10 or 20+ year old boats and expect them to run like new. I have a 1998 Harley with an Evo engine and Harley won't even touch that bike. How's that for service! I still ride Harleys. You need to find an old timer that works on boats and motors. Not much to them. That's what I did with my Harley.

Sorry to hear your frustration but I have one friend who bought a BRAND NEW mastercraft who never sees the water due to a problem no one seems to be able to solve. Another friend bought a new svfara boat with lots of problems. Its unfortunate but there are always lemons no matter what you buy--cars,electronics,ex-girlfriends (boyfriends). It sure is frustrating. I bought a new Tige in 07 and have had nothing but good service and no issues. Just my 2 cents

It sucks to hear that you are having a ton of problems with your boat. I agree that the low hours are not always a good thing. My buddy Austin South Side has a 03 or 04 22v and has had no problems to speak of with the engine. He also services his boat EVERY single year. Some people are not willing to spend that 4 to 500 bucks a year for service. Well, it is worth every . I have been getting my serviced religiously since I bought it and I have had no problems with my boat.
It is always a risk buying anything used!! Car, Boat, Motorcycle, Jet Ski... the list goes on.
Good luck getting it fixed!!
By the way, I love my TIGE and keep buying Tige!!

I"m sorry to see you are having difficulty with your boat. That is no fun at all! I wish you luck with the solution.
I thought of a thread where SPBFAN was going to purchase a scan tool and allow us to basically share it by renting it.
I'm not sure if it ever panned out, but you might try contacting him?

Wouldn't all marine engines require this type of special software to read the codes? Not just Tigé.
Are you saying Indmar engines allow you to use a standard OBDII scanner?Last edited by TeamAllen; 06-05-2011, 03:04 PM.Mike Allen, Tigé owner since 1997

Is your boat at WWS right now? Sounds like you are fixing it yourself and I don't know any car dealer that would help me fix my car over the phone. They want to be able to get their own hands on it. WWS is one of the best dealers in the country for any boat make and you are seriously the first person I have seen complain about them. I don't think its fair to complain about them when they aren't the ones fixing your boat.

malibus have a CEL light. With cycling the key it will atleast flash the code. With Tige they dont give you anyway to see if there are codes.
Also the malibus can be scanned with a Snapon Moduis (sp) I have many scan tools its just annoying they cant seem to just OB2 it would be simple for them and make all owners/techs happy!www.1320diesel.com Home of the Fastest Diesels!

Thanks to boat manafatures they use a differnt DLC to scan this engines. So I cant connect to it and get information I need to figure out why its a PIece of $hit and wont run. I now have replaced both fuel pumps. Cam, crank, and knock sensors due to no power and intermediate back fire. Not sure if any of you have ever been to a Tige dealer but the Techs they high are the same of Jiffy Lube.
I called PCM and left messages. I emailed them and left messages for some help and No returned calls or emails..
I should have bought another malibu or mastercraft.
THANK YOU TIGE FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT. I WILL NEVER CONSIDER BUYING A NEW BOAT after this. WE planned on trading it in towards the end of the year for a 2011 but there is no way after seeing the support they give to older owners.. THANKS
Vent done..
Thanks

So your boat still doesn't run? I have an tech in my area that is a boat genius. I bet you can find someone in your area that is good. Explain the engine issues more. PCM's are sick motors, sorry to hear your troubles. I think my next boat will be a pcm.Build thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v
