Ok so went out today for memorial day and ended up being towed TWICE!! I added a second battery with a switch one deep cycle one starter with a perko switch. I had been towing for a couple of hours and figured i should get some charge to both batts so i switched to all did one pull for a boarder turned the boat off and i had nothing. no acc no blower, pump, etc... This was the first tow back in. Wanted to get a few more rides in so took the switch apart and just wired it the old way. Boat fires right up I have blower acc and pump again look down at depth gauge and it says .5 so i push the set button (hummingbird is the brand) it says set i think so i push it again the boat just dies while im idling no NOTHING. I cant even get a spark when i tap the hot wire on the positive post of batt. I mean i got nothing on anything. The breaker button did not trip as far as i can tell. I cant imagine the depth finder having anything to do with i never mess with it but that is what happened. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated I have no idea where to start. OH 99 21 v mer 350 mag mpi. And batteries have plenty of juice.

Is this the first trip out since the battery build?
Is it just 2 batteries with a multi-bank switch, no electronic isolator like an ACR or diode?
Whats the static battery voltage now that you are experiencing an issue? Using a DVOM is better then gauge on dash
Were you able to check the alternator output? Again, DVOM rather the gauge on dash.
Is the new battery grounded to the existing battery or the engine block?
Start with this and we'll go from there. We may need you to post up a schematic of how you have everything wired.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

first trip out to use "all" position. last time out kept in 1 position and had no problems. I have a ground cable going to both batteries. I have the block ground going to battery 1. I have the main positive wire and amp positive on common. I have the positvie from batt 2 on 2 post on switch and (+) from batt 1 on 1 post on switch. I will check volt on meter when i get off work later today. alt is new as of last yr but will check that later as well. My only thought is either somehow the brand new batts are just gonners or blew some kind of fuse...
