22v riders surf/wakeboard ballast set up

I am looking to add ballast to my 2003 22v and need some suggestions. We are going to try wakesurfing this summer and need to know placement and what style of fat sacs work best. We also want to have it versatile enough to add to our wake board wake and are trying not to lose any seating. I was looking at the v shaped bow sac for the front but wasn't sure what to use for the mid and back of the boat.

    Thanks

I had the same dilema as it relates to having the versatility to do both wakeboarding and surfing. I ending up plumbing two rear jumbo bags (1100lbs), and tube sac on the port side. See the attached link

This set up allows me to weight the rear down for wakeboarding and to use a combination of rear and port side locker for surfing. This gets the boat down in the rear and lisp to the surf side. You should PM Chpthrill regarding the specific bags that would work for your boat - hope this helps!

We also have a 2003 22V that is used for both surf and wakeboarding. Currently we have two 400lbs sacs and two 200lbs sacs. For surfing we put both 400s in the port side locker, a 200 under the port side seat and the other 200 on the port corner floor. For wake: a 400 and a 200 in each rear locker and a couple of ladies in the bow seats. This works pretty well but we are looking to get one of the custom 1000lbs sac for the port locker for our surfing fun.
      Hope this helps, have fun!

For wakeboarding I run factory 900#.Not real sure of the split. Wake really comes to life with an extra 400# in the nose. I dont surf so cant really help you out there.

i surf with about 250lbs in the bow and 1100 (doesn't fill compltetely so approximately 950-1050lbs "ish") in the v-drive compartment and another 400 on the seat.
for wakeboarding i use about 1000lbs total in the v-drive compartments and 600 in the bow. It's a good wake but deffinately not the largest i've seen. I have bad knees now so i don't do a huge amount of wakeboarding anymore.

Ok so we've been out and are in the process of purchasing the bow bag and two rear locker sacs mentioned above. With about 6 guys in the boat and 4 ladies we can wakesurf very easily so are just getting the extra weight for adjustment and to max things out (also when we don't have the boat weighted down by people). The wake is so responsive to weight adjustment throughout the boat that we are looking to automate the system. I will definitely post pics and stuff of the project if we decide to do that.
