    Board rack on 06 24V

Help! I guess in my old age I am having a tough time making decisions?!@#?^??

Well too cold to work on stereo so I might as well install my board racks. However I need some advise. Seems I have 2 choices, to mount the racks #1 on the pipe, or #2 on the uprights.

    1.

1st possible position. If I mount them on the pipes I feel that they would be to far to reach up and not very easy to grab the boards. I think the racks would have to be mounted on the pipe just alittle bit forward of the top bolt of the upright. Commments or ideas on this position?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

2nd possible position. If I where to mount them on the uprights, it will require quite a bit of detailed work to make them fit right. As you can see once I take off 1/2 of the pipe clamp there are a number of nibs. I would have to drill holes into the upright to make it fit. Maybe I should grind down a couple on just have 4 nibs or even 2?? I do need some nibs to prevent the rack from twisting down. Has anyone installed these racks on the uprights? Also if I went this route do you think I should drill sraight through the upright or only half way and grind down the nibs?

Also do you think the uprights are strong enough so once the boards on on them they won't shake alot?

    2.

And the most important question and I hope someone will chime in to help. DO you think I should use the "Tige" upright or the plain "curved" ones.

Also I was thinking of getting these powder coated silver or even chromed. What do you guys think?

I would appreciate all the ideas I can get!! Thanks

we started putting them on the uprights. Alot easier to get to the boards. Peopled liked it alot better.Sorry no pics not my boats. We had no complaints with rattles

IMPO I like the Tige upright
As far as grinding the nibs,we just left half the pipe clamp on and drilled 2 holes and it mounts flush to the upright. Make sense?

My first thought was on the uprights. The Wake design have those nibs so It will be alittle more difficult. My concern was once a couple of boards are on it it may wobble. Did you find that to be the case??

Damn I need to find a pic of one of our customers boats. I amnot explaining it well enough I guess. Look at your first pic. Take the 2 screws out as if you were going to mount it to a bar. Now you have a rack with half a pipe clamp still on it measure 2 holes drill 2 holes in upright. Done this way we had no problems what so ever. If you do it like your talking i think you might have prolems with it twisting because it only has the center bolt and nothing locking into palce.
