Go to a tire shop and get old weights. Then. put them into small gas cans or other packaging of your choice. Then fill the cans with sand to take up the lost space. That is the cheapest method where things are movable.

Or, go to play it again sports, you can get weights for $.30 per pound.

So does anyone have just the factory ballast system without extra? Or is it like getting a tattoo, once you get one you can't stop adding? I currently own an 04 20V with no ballast at all, but I am thinking of upgrading to an 06 22V and wondering if I will be happy with the factory ballast, or none at all.

Also is the factory ballast totally covered (under the floor), I'm not sure if I want all of these ballast bags all over the boat.

The wake has never really been an issue because my family are all beginners, but sometimes I wish I had a bigger wake to get more air. Also, we just went on a houseboat trip to Shasta and our friends brought a wake surfer, we had to totally load the back corner to get a nice surf wake. On the 06 22V the dealer (and my wife) was able to surf with just 2 people in the boat and Taps all the way.

      Thanks for any input.

The factory ballast has hard tanks in the rear and smaller hard tanks in the front storage areas not under the bow seats.

That's cool! I'd always wondered about that.

In the rear I used sacks that run from the back wall all the way up to the front of the storage area. Then we built a fake floor over them. This gives us ~700 a side in the rear with the ability to still put things in the rear compartments. So, personally I think that is the best option.
