    New Rims/Tires

Just bought the boat in December and waiting for spring/summer to get here. In the mean time, there is plenty to do - like put on new tires. I figured, since I needed new rubber (I think the old tires were original), it would be the best time to add new rims as well. I don't understand why the wife isn't as excited about the new look as I am!

Take a look guys. Sorry you can't see them well in the photos, but you get the point.

Those must be some sticky tires to hold the trailer upside down like that. Those wheels look good.

What size rims and tires are you running? Assume from the photos they are 14 or 15's given the profile of the tire. They look great! I am in the process of upgrading to 18's, but the $1200 upgrade has turned into having to upgrade to 10" inch wide fenders. Do you know what offset your new rims are?

Rims are 15 inch. We put three different tire sizes on, first too small, second too big, third fits well. Went with the ST205/R75. For some reason, the 205 Radials were taller than the 205 bias ply. I don't know what the offset is - sorry. I didn't want to modify the fenders, so I went with these.

Sorry about the photos - when I look at this post on my iPhone, they look upside down, but when I view on a desktop they look correct - don't know what happened there.

I think when I took the photos with my iPhone, I had the camera upside down - didn't know you could do that, but I guess its possible. For some reason when you pull it up on the iPhone, it makes it look like a added wheels to the top of the tower - they are added protection b/c I know I am going to hit that thing on something one day!! I like the rims b/c they are not 100% black, but have a little chrome on them to make them pop.

Is there any way you can add a 1 inch spacer block below the leaf springs? I hate it when the back of the trailer drags on my driveway and occasionally elsewhere, so I was thinking about a 1 inch lift - similar to what is done on the back of pickup trucks with straight axles and leafsprings. This could mess up the brake hose, but that will be considered if I go forward with the lift.

Some trailers have little wheels on the trailers prop cage. Maybe a local fab shop could add some for you. Maybe something like this

You would have to find a good sturdy way to mount them.
                Here are some ideas:

I like the bolt on option - seems easy enough to perform at the house w/o needing a welder.
