My buddy wants to buy a v-drive and has a 19 ft I/O, but I ruined him b/c I took him out in my 22Ve and he found a 2000 21V Tige Riders Edition for sale with 850 hrs. and he doesnt know if he should get it or not... I think that they want around $15,500 for the boat which needs another $500-$750 in upholstery repair and he also needs to invest in a stereo... Can anyone out there who has or knows about the 2000 21V let me know pros and cons on this boat? thanks

We have had one 8 years and love it. Put in stereo and perfect pass (PP is a must have) and that is it. we can do anything we want with it. Has plenty of room for all but the largest crowds. Throws a good wakeboard wake without ballast and we surf with no ballast as well. We will be adding it though as good will become great. The weakness on these boats is the original Metcraft tower. As with all new things, the engineering has gotten a lot better than these first generation. Look for cracks around the lap joints on top. Mine would have lasted longer but I hit something with it (house). Very important to keep all joints very tight. We had to re upholster last year and plan on keeping the boat for a long time to come as it serves our purpose well. Runs and handles like a sports car. Like all things, the newer are much more plush, but if you don't have to have new, it is a GREAT boat and built like a tank. Just look at the ski pylon engineering for that.
Now all that being said, none of it means anything if the previous owner did not take care of the maintenance. Check it out well or take it to the Tige dealer to check out. Worth the time and money on a 10 year old boat. If it was well cared for, I wouldn't hesitate. Just my 2 cents.

We got ours in 2006 and love it. Before we had an 18 ft I/O and driving at slow speeds is a bit different, especially backing to the left. Paid almost twice as much, but it only had 41 hrs. Ours came with a Phat Budde tower and we haven't had any problems with it. We normally go out with a group of 9 to 11, mostly kids, and there's plenty of room. The two best additions were the Perfect Pass and changing the prop to an Acme 537. Haven't had any problems other than maintenance type things - serpentine belt, raw water pump impeller, bilge pump.Attached Files

I have a 2000 21V fox edition. I love it. No regrets. I wish it had Perfect Pass, but that's always something I can add later. I personally could not justify the cost of a new boat, so this one was perfect for me. Like posted above, if it was well kept, I'm sure it will be a great boat. Good luck. Post up some pics if he gets it.2000 Tige Fox Edition

I have a 2001 21V Great boat for big water and the $. You load it up with fat sacs and the wake is awsome. I'm running 2 400lbs in the rear lockers and a 400 in the front walk through and the wake is great. Your buddy will not regret buying it. Low ball them to included the price to replace the vynl and you got an almost new boat.Attached Files

It is the old Double up Tower from Ski Centurion. Fineline Inustries makes the Ski Centurion here in NC and they happen to be one of my customers. I saw it sitting at the factory went and measured it and it was just wide enough to fit my Tige'. I believe it came off a Falcon or Escalade. I still have my old Metcraft tower that came with my boat, but I have to say this dbl up tower is rock solid. I;m running the wet sound 3some and it does not shake one bit. very happy with it no weld just one contiuos bent tube just what I was looking for to replace the Metcrap
