    Advice on Boat Purchase

    I'm considering the following boats:

    2005 Tige 22V
    http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/boa/1992556356.html

    2006 Centurion Avalance
    http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/boa/2033528353.html

    2002 Malibu Wakesetter
    http://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/boa/2023344595.html

I plan to used the boat with my wife and two kids (13 & 14). We'll use the boat for wakeboarding, wakesuring, tubing and waterskiing. We'll never have more than 4 adults and 4 kids on the boat.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks.

Of course, on a Tige website, we may be a little biased.

I would think that the Avy and Tige will give a better surf wave than the Malibu. If you are able to test them all out, that will give you a basis to form your own opinion. Good luck, and post up your findings and decision when you make one.

      Dingleberry,

I respect the bias. I posted a similiar question on the Centurion forum.

I'm just not too familiar with the Tige brand. If I can purchase an 05 Tige V22 for under $30,000 am I getting a fair deal?

      Thanks.

I had replied in this thread before I saw that you had another thread going that was more active with replies. Like the others said, it is probably a fair deal if the boat is in good condition, has some options you may want, and doesn't have way too few hours. Yes - too few, as a boat of that age, if it hasn't been run regularly, can have problems with parts that have dried out, cracked, etc. Unless the hours are up in the thousands, a decent number of hours on a boat is actually better than almost none.

Here's a link to the boat:

As you can see it has about 300 hours, which seems reasonable. thoughts?

In my opinion, if the interior looks pretty nice, everything works well, then yes. Its a good deal. Just my opinion though.

Tige and Malibu over an Avy for sure IMPO. I would take the Tige for same money being its 3 yrs. newer. And when it comes to crossover ability for all the sportd you plan on doing Tige is head and shoulders above these other boats. The deal is decent and 300 hours is about perfect for that year not to many and not to little. Just right! as long as it was serviced.
