I have to say, until I saw this post with the other FAE owners, I thought I was a newby just crazy silly about this FAE thing. Good to know I wasn't talking crazying in my other comments/post regarding FAE.

Side comment - my bud had has one for 4 years or more and doesn't have any peeling or issues with his painted install. Wondering if there was an issue with those of you that are experiencing this or if it will happened no matter what eventually? Maybe a bad batch or something...don't know. Hope it doesn't happen to mine.

My home lake is REALLY sandy. There are very few spots that have any sort of rocks or rocky bottom. Almost all the shore line is gently sloping, super soft, sandy beaches. I've been boating all my life on this lake which makes me very comfortable maneuvering in very close to the shore. I'm quite sure it has been sand basted a time or two. I don't fault the FAE or even the powder coating. I really don't care what the FAE looks like anymore. The thing works so good, I'm never taking it off. Now that most of the powder coat is gone off the down spout, it almost looks like it's supposed to be that way. The rest of it still looks brand new.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Ok...that makes sense. Thanks for sharing, I won't look for mine to get that way then anytime soon.

Our powder coat is going, too.
Am I wrong, but isn't the powder coated one made out of stainless and it was powdered rather than polished?
When I get a polishing wheel I figure I'm going to polish ours.

I don't know...don't remember that in the conversation when I purchased ours. Well hopefully I have many years of use before that happens to ours. Little disapointed regarding this issue but oh well.

Ours peeled around the outlet and Larry Mann was happy to recoat if i wanted to send it in.

IMO, I didnt really give a chit! The boat was meant to be in the water and it couldnt been seen once floating. The fact that it is meant to do a job and not be seen, is the reason I went with the coated instead of polished.

X2!!! Our boat is either in the water or backed onto our driveway.

I do remember thinking just that. That is why I did end up going with the powder coating. But I am hoping it looks a clean and new as long as possible just the same.

As far as a group buy, I don't know but I seem to remember somebody very recently posting something about prices increasing pretty soon. If I were in the market, I would be calling Larry and asking about this and what kind of time frame til price went up (if it does). Just putting it out there as I seem to remember somewhere somebody was talking about it.

I just placed my order last night. To the contrary, prices aren't going up. Actually, they are selling for $100 off while the current supplies last. Anyone interested in saving a few bones on an FAE setup should get them on the phone.
