I guess if it's good enough for the Tige manufacturing plant employees to walk in the boat with shoes on, it's good enough for the owner. hahaha

Nice looking boat. It will be interesting what you think about those spray pockets and comparing them to the XStar. There is also someone on the forum that did fill in the pockets.

What spray pockets do you mean?
      Waiting for another good one!

The notched out area of the hull at the aft end. Some people feel that they can produce a slightly washy lip of the wake, mostly when heavily weighted.

Here is a thread where one owner glassed them in: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...hlight=glassed

And here is another thread where an owner tried to fill them in, and was not happy with the resulting wake: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...=spray+pockets

Oh, and that's a great looking boat and tow rig you have!

            Thank you!

We'll find out about the spray pockets, but probably not for a month if at all this season. I don't have ballast at all and while the XStar and MB do, those will be the tow boats. My 8 year old can board behind this one though since he doesn't need a big wake just yet

I wouldn't mess with the spray pockets. I don't feel the reward is worth the effort. That tower does suck. I know, I had one. I would start planning for a new one now. It will make your boat feel new all over again. Stereo's are over rated IMO. Unless your really into custom stereos, you really don't need much. A good deck, a couple pairs of decent cabin speakers, a Sub and the power to run them and your done. You really don't want tower speakers until you get a new tower. Ballast is a biggie. Easy to go cheap but, worth it to do it right.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Will the Jumbo V-drive surf sac (W719 - 1100lbs) fit in the lockers or should I just go with the V-drive "set" that is 400lbs each (W701)?

we have 2 400s and a 750 we aren't using right now, if you want to come up and see which fits better before you buy. Will have 2 1100s extra when the custom sacs come in.

I wouldn't discount the stereo, of course, its preference. But for me and my family, the stereo is like half the fun. My kids will start coasting while surfing, signal to fast forward, and then only start back up surfing when they find a song they want to hear. Its part of our ritual, rider gets song choice. Dad has been known to override on occasion. We are HUGE music lovers, though. Also, riding in at sunset down our 15-20 minute 5mph ride in the marina, with the Stereo blasting, can't tell you how much I love that.

To help gauge where I am in this, I had a 68 Nova that cost me 600 to buy, 1000 more to fix up, and I put a $1500 stereo in it. I guess that may just be the mexican in me, primer is ok, but it must have the right wheels, tires, and stereo.

                  FWIW. ;-)

LOL, I definately want good tunes! And I have a psuedo hookup with Bullet Audio too...

I'd love to make it up there Robert, but time is restricting at the moment... Sometime soon for sure though!!!!
I know what the dimensions are of those sacs, I guess I should just measure it up and see? Did you prefer the 1100's or the 400's?

I prefer the most weight I can fit in there. ;-) Measure it up. The 1100s are pretty huge, and just a big rectangle. I think 24x24x50.

Okay, and I (being a bit of a DIYer) was going to plumb them and put some switches at the helm, but my brother says don't waste your time. Would it be easier to just get a Tsunami pump and do it by hand?

If you are a bit of a DIYer, I would plum and install. Here is the thing, IMHO, boating has to be a fun relaxing thing, for everyone on the boat. "Honey, get up so I can get the pump" etc. After a while, the pumps becomes a PITA. It doesn't if you go out with your buds, or your wife and kids are extremely easy going. Take it from a guy with 6 kids, and 200+ hours a season out there, plumb it. Use Ballast puppy pumps, reversible, and come with the switches. I think Chpthril or SPBFan may have kits for you, if not, let me know.

Its always a bit scary drilling a hole in the bottom of your boat, but I don't regret it.

For this season I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the wake for both wakeboarding and surfing with just people in the boat. Give it a try. We surf behind ours all the time and have no ballast. Hopefully in the future though. Look at Dogberts thread on ballast installation. He did it very well and is very pleased.

i also have the 99 21v. i love the wake, the surf wake puts every other boat to shame, IMHO. i have 440 lbs of sand which is a little old schoold but it works so well i dont want to spend the time or money to convert to sacs. 240 lbs up front (120 each side) and 200 in the back (100 each side) I also fill 2 600 lbs sacs in port side cubby stacked (going to convert to a custom) and we just filled a 750 on the port side seat . the wake is sick! running at about 11.2 depends a little at how many people are on the boat.

I still have the crappy tower but i have not had any issues other than it moves a lot when a wake boarder knows how to load the line.

My DVD and sounds system also puts new boats to shame so i survived with out the new tower for the last 5 years. i have almost 1300 hours on mine now.
