04-05 22v

I had to sacrifice my 07 22VE earlier this year. I'm back in the hunt now and am seeing 04-05 22V's in my price range. Can anyone tell me the big differences between the two different V models?
Also, has anyone tried retrofitting the new Alpha tower on an older Tige? thanks.

I am new to Tiges but have been looking for 2 months or more. Finally bought an 05 22v. So I don't know everytthing but I know a little.

The biggest difference I know is the interior. In the 04 model, which from all the reading I was doing sounds like it was known for not having the best interior as far as seams. The reason in my opinion is how the cushins are put together. The 04 is one cushin - the seat part is sewen to the front part or the "lip" of the cushin. In the 05 model, the "lip" is separate from the "seat" part. Therefore the seam issus is not an issue. This was a reason actually we bought the 05 of an 04 we had been looking at. See Picture

You can see where the grey and the white are separate. In the 04, this is one unit. If you need you can get one or both fixed if and when the time comes but in the 04 it has to be fixed as one unit. We have friends with an 04 20v and they have seam issue.

I am sure there are more differences but at the moment I can't think of any others that jump out at me. Hope this helps.

The Vé has a walk through transom, where the V doesn't... That's one thing I learned recently.
