    SYNCHROTECH Transmissions Help??????

Ok. I know there is a thread with some talk about this but it doesn't really seem to go anywhere and it is old.

Can someone update this issue as far as are they good to have or is it better to have the standard 1:1 transmission? How do they work? Are they relibable? Would you buy a boat with or without one.

I am really wondering about the reliability of this aspect of the boat. The boat I am looking at is an 06 and has one. I did a search on the web in general but really didn't find much info on it. Could you guys pls help in this area?

Is SYNCHROTECH just a brand name and nothing more...I'm lost on this subject.

Answer or comments would really be appreciated on this.

    Thanks

Most the Tige's out there are gonna have it.

I ordered mine w/ it, as the dealer recommended it and said that 99% of the boats he orders had it. Hopefully Dom or Chp will hop on here and explain it more to you. If I remember right, it was just a gearing reduction.
Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

I may be wrong (not the first time) but the synchrotech was just the fancy sales jargon/term for the 1:1.5 gear reduction. You will find it on nearly 100% of the v-drives and the Walter v-drive is as bullit proof as them come. I would only be worried if it didn't have it.

Thank you guys. I was finally able to talk to a Tige Dealer in Texas this morning and found out what you have said as well. Standard tran is black, Synchrotech is blue. He orded all his boats with it. It's about a $500 option when it was an option but now sounds like they are standard.

Thank you very much guys for your imput.
