Well I have had our new boat for a couple of weekends and I guess it is time to share my report card.
We have had a number of boats over the past years, 96 Ski challenger, 99 20i Tige, 99 Sunsetter V-drive, 03 22i Tige, and now a Tige 24V.
Although we still don't have a stereo installed, nor do we have perfect pass it has been a treat to drive a big boat. Our 03 22i was an GREAT boat, but what do they say.... bigger is better. (watch what you say!) The room in the boat is absolutely awesome. Its nice to get back to a V-drive. Tons of room and the comfortability of the seats really blew my wife away. She loves the way the bow seats have that curvature to almost form to her back. I really don't think there is a uncomfortable seat!
The storage room is fantastic and it is sure is nice to have the room for the big sacs beside the engine. Plus we can shove all the life jackets back there. I'm 6'3" and usually couple of time a day I would hit my head on the damn tower on the old boat. No worries here.
I haven't had it "opened up" yet really as there is only a few hours on the engine but the power is great to have. I was quite surprised how well it handles the normal chop we get on our lake. I was aittle surprised at the extra room need to turn the boat around but I guess thats what you get for a 24'er. No question needs Perfect pass though!
Although I havent had the opportuntiy to drive/ride in the other boats, so its hard to compare to the "X" stuff, but we are super pleased over this boat. Couple of minor engine issues which are been taken care of by the dealer, but that's to be expected.
Only problem now is summer is going by too quick and we have probably have only 5-6 weeks left depending on weather.
