I have noticed my red warning light in the center of the dash comes on occasionally. All of my gauges are reading normal. Fluid in the v-drive is good. Boat is running fine. Just sometimes the light comes on. Nothing regular about it, just depends. Some times while I am running, when I am idling, and then it will just shut off and not come back on. Any suggestions or maybe a bad sensor some where?

I think it is transmission pressure, when you are at lower than 1000 rpms it will be on. It should go off when you begin to throttle up (in gear of course). it should NOT be on at any RPM above say 800-1000, if it is coming on then that indicates a problem in the tranny systems (electrical, sensor or pressure issue)

The trans engages @ 1400 RPM and light goes OFF.
Let the idle go back down to 750 RPM the light stays OFF until the trans disengages.
At below 800 RPM the trans disengages and the light comes ON.
When the trans is engaged the V-drive is turning and the V-drive oil pressure increases to above 2 psi.
The "TRANS OIL" light is actually a V-drive oil pressure indicator.
In our boat as long as the trans is engaged the light is OFF.
The V-drive pressure sensor is mounted on the side of the casing - 2 psi, Normally Closed, Hobbs Corp. - #76061.
