    FAE on Single Port Exhaust?

I am looking at getting an FAE for our '10 22Ve. Browsing the site they don't have any pics of installation on a Tige single port exhaust. They do have pics of CC installs.

Has anyone here installed the FAE on a single port exhaust Tige, and have pics they could post for me?

I was hoping to order this and have it home waiting for me, but they don't have the measurements for a '10 22Ve, so I may have to wait till we get back home.

There are a couple of options. The 2010 is the same as the 2009.

    1. They have done a single port setup for Kerlee.

    2. They also do the standard dual exhaust configuration where you would install a "dummy" exhaust port on the starboard side.

The advantage of the 2nd option is that the angle of the downtube is adjustable and is not onoption #1.

why is being able to adjust the angle of the downport important for me? what advantages does that offer versus a fixed downport?

being able to adjust the downspout can decrease the rooster tail. I do have the mono-port FAE. Larry did a great job on it and the measurements were right on spot, no significant rooster tail etc.. I did mount mine to a swim deck ladder. There should be pics on some of my previous posts.

And I have option #2 above...with the dummy port. I'll post a pic when I find one....but it simply looks like I have two ports.

              Guapo,
I think it was your install that we all liked where you drilled into the side of the swim bracket and used "rubber compression washer". If so then please post that picture as well.

I searched and found kerlee's pictures as well. I think I actually prefer the install with the dummy port... (probably one of those OCD has to be symmetrical reasons...LOL)

Guapo, can you explain the dummy port. Meaning, is it simply mounting a fake port on the transom or did you make a hole in the transom the size of an exhaust port and them mount the port that leads no where? Does that make sense?

                  Guma,

The dummy port is simply screwed into the transom with four screws. There is no need for a hole the size of the exhaust port. The other side of the FAE simply needs the dummy port to mount to. Make sense?

Makes perfect sense, just wanted to make sure that the fake port screwed to the transom. Thanks

P-Doggy is correct. It's 4 screws that attach it to the transom. PM Jeffe on this site. He did what I did regarding the support bar...but better. He had the nuts welded into the support bar for a more rigid connection. I will be doing that over the winter. Mine rattles a bit. You only notice it when you are behind the boat surfing. It's minor...but not perfect. Jeffe's had some great pics.

Hmmm, perhaps Jeffe could be convinced to post up pics in this thread?

So, dummy port, drilled bracket with rubber compression washer, and welded nuts.

FAE is probably going to be a winter project for us. Timely and useful thread.

Here is Jeffe's thread on the support bar with pics... This and an aluminum swim platform are my two projects when we get back home. Winter projects? Well it is Florida...
