I am looking at a 2000 tige 21v limited and was looking for some info other than the one tread I could find on here. It has 350 hrs, no perfect pass, no ballast, a Mercruiser 350 mag motor, TAPS, Bimini, dual axle trailer and a wake designs tower. It seems to be in pretty decent shape although I do need to give it a once over but before I spend the time I was just curious about the wake it would throw and how it does with wake surfing. I know I read that some Tige's have a touchy wake due to the hull design, but was just curious what some of you thought. The guy is asking around $18k which seems to be a decent deal for a V drive with the amount of hours it has. Thanks.

I have a 2000 21v riders edition. We just got ours out for the first time with a small ballast bag. Here's a pic
http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...196#post437196
The price seems pretty good if the boats in visibly good condition. I plan on installing a perfect pass, depth sounder and integrated ballasts this off season. For comparison shopping the perfect pass and depth sounder will run 2-3k, ballasts im thinking a couple grand for an integrated ballast setup. As far as the boat in general...for the price (ours was comparable) i could not be happier. We love ours. After surfing for the first time this weekend with a REALLY basic setup, and specifically looking down at the back of the boat for some of the spray pockets ive read about...i dont see how it could cause anything to the wake that would make a difference. Maybe cosmetic if anything...but nothing that will hinder your surfing ability. If thats your price range...go for it..i have not a had second thought on mine.I'd rather be a conservative nut job than a liberal with no nuts and no job.

You will definately want to install the perfect pass. If you are handy at all you can do it yourself, the instructions are very good. We surfed on ours all weekend. We can surf with 4 in the boat and no ballast you just have a short pocket. With 10 in the boat it is really great. Can't wait to put ballast in one day. We have had ours for 8 years and have 0 complaints. Doesn't mean nothing has ever gone wrong, after all it is a boat. One plus is you don't have the Metcraft tower. Having to repair mine again after it cracked this weekend. Hopefully a new one next year. These are great boats, just not as fancy as the new ones, plus, they get great gas milage. We can do a whole weekend on less than one tank, most of the time. Try that with an X45!. You will love it and all the great advice you have at your disposal on this site. These guys have seen it all.

Great boat. Very heavy, so good stock wake. Wake is adjustable w/ TAPS. Check out my ballast thead on how to add 1500 lbs of ballast to make a huge wake. I love my boat and wouldn't trade it for the world...ok, so if Tige offered up a new RZ2, I'd probably go for itCursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

X2 on the Perfect Pass.
The Merc 350 Mag MPI has plenty of pull, especially after changing the prop to an Acme #537 (blue V-drive). The OJ it came with was not a good match.
We love our boat and haven't really had any problems with it.
We've added a Perfect Pass, depth sounder, bilge fume detector, fuel flow sensor, fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail, second battery, raw water stainer, board racks, raised the driver's seat, moved the mirror to the tower, upgraded the bilge pump, replaced the transom hooks, replaced the table mount with a deck plate to better access the center drain and Rhino coated the swim step. We've done all the work ourselves. Next we're going to upgrade the bimini raising it a few inches and lengthen it. And cut off those horrid board hooks on the tower.Attached Files

Thanks, rostap,
The picture is from 4 years ago and it doesn't look any different, except the tape stripes and decals are getting scratched up.
I'm going to make some templates and cut out replacements from RV striping.
The vinyl stripes look like the same stuff on our RV.
I'll lose the "Wakeboard Boat Of The Year" decals because I don't think I can reproduce them.
The stripes and "TIGE" logo shouldn't be too hard.

lohe-
The original seat height in ours was just too low for us.
Here's a thread with pics - http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4609
After raising the seat the screw holes in the floor stripped out partly because the carpet under the base allowed the pedestal to rock.
The increased height increased the force applied to the screws, too.
After installing SS T-nuts under the deck with bolts for the seat base it is rock solid after 4 years now.
Here's the thread from that install - http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7173

I also am looking at a 2000 21V limited. I found an archived thread on here through google, but I can't find it now talking about the differences between a rider's edition and a limited edition. It talked about how much more plush the interior is in the limited, can anyone confirm this, and maybe explain the interior differences in detail for me?
Call me crazy, but I'm the type of guy that likes to know precisely the differences available in models for any particular year boat I end up with.Waiting for another good one!
