    Boat Values

I'm selling my 1999 2100v. As I've looked at NADA values compared to what boats actually sell for it seems the NADA retail prices are low. Not just for Tige, but for just about any inboard.

Is this peculiar to the West, to Utah, or Nationwide?

NADA and others are just guides, but the market will determine the selling price. That being said, the low NADA numbers may be due to the selling price of a used boat purchased through a dealer. With the economy the way it is, and has been for 2 yrs now, dealers are not putting alot into a trade or broaker deal, and inturn, they are not holding on to the used boats holding out for a high proffit. Their goal may be to sell it quick and maybe make a little and hope not to take a loss. This may bring the NADA numbers down, even though a private sale may bring more.

Used Boat Values are actually way up because of the shortage of new boats here. In Oklahoma used boats are selling for at or above high NADA retail reguardless of the shape of the boat. Dealers are not doing much on trades but will usually sell it for you quick for a small commission or no commission if you are ordering a boat from them. You are going to have to wait on a new one though. Right now it is definately a sellers market. I would expect to see this change over the next 2 years.

On a national level, I would have to disagree that there is a shortage of new boats. As the economy tanked and dealers went under, the market was flooded with new 07's, 08's and 09's, some being sold by the floor plan co's for $.25 on the dollar.

Many of these were from manufacturers like Mastercraft, Malibu and Correct Craft, as they produce spec boats and force the dealers to take whats made. Others, like Tige, doesnt build a boat till it's ordered by either a dealer or for a customer.

The overall market is flooded with new and used inboards. It was a challenge to sell mine at the right price because as chpthril said there are a bunch of new boats selling for high used retail numbers for a new boat which makes it hard to sell the cleanest used ride. I was able to sell mine well over NADA but it took patience and price adjustements to draw in buyers.

I have not had any issue with selling my current boat ( priced between low NADA and high) I have had many phone calls/emails a few have come look at it in person and one test drive last night. I have 3 people just trying to get the money figured out.

what does NADA say yours is?

Also I would fix some of that "ticky tac" stuff and clean it very well these thing turned me immediately away.

This is the other boat I was looking at and deiced to go with asking almost that same price and "willing to negotiate" and he did.

Not trying to bash your boat but over all this other one seemed to be in much better condition plus had more options/upgrades.

These are the things I saw when I came out last weekend that turned me away:
Just how the engine area was completely dirty and dust covered makes it look like no one has been in there in ages and maintained it, the placement of the amps and all the looses wires under the steering wheel, that "tick tac stuff" as you called it. ( tower speakers, tower bar missing, the bimini screw etc)

Just trying to give you some feedback to help you sell yours, but I got my boat professionally detailed and just organized/cleaned every thing up makes a world a difference when people come to look at it first impressions are huge. Now if your price was significantly lower I still would have consider it but I didn't want to be that guy to make a low ball offer.

Best of luck with the sale.

              Kevin.

I am ready to pay cash on the barrelhead for a new 07-09 boat of that type at $0.25 on the dollar. I'm deadly serious. Where do I find a deal like that?

I am not real sure those kinds of deals are out there. Being int he boat biz I have seen some great deals come and go but not .25/dollar. Come to Fla. and pick one up. Great deals on great boats.
