CURVEBALL!!! i cleaned all that crap out of the trans cooler and crossed my fingers.... we went out tonight and cruised around the lake for about 20 min with 4 ppl in the boat and the temp was good the whole time. i filled up the surf ballast and thought i would test it b4 i tried to ride behind it because i didn't have an experienced driver. I took off and by time the boat reached surf speed it overheated again! we idled around for 5 minutes and it was cooled down and back to normal temp. I though i would try wakeboarding because the boat has more speed=more water in the intake. we wakeboarded for an hour and it was fine the whole time. after that i tried to surf again and it overheated instantly......... what gives???

What's the inside of the impeller housing look like? It it's blue'd and scored, it's toast. It could have overheated and is now out of round.

i just pulled the impeller housing out and it looks good. The new impeller i put the other weekend is still good as well. Where else could there be a blockage??? this has god me stumped and frustrated.

the wierdest thing is that it apparently only does it when we are surfing.

i'll check that next.... i pulled the outlet hose off the trans cooler and started it for a split second and it's definitely pumping lots of water......
However, at the same time there was VERY hot water being pumped out the hose that i removed(from the motor). How in the world can there be water pumping back out that hose????
