    Tracking fins

Ok guys I was looking under the boat the other day and noticed that the 3rd tracking fin (the back one) is slightly bent. I can try and get a picture later when I pull it out of storage.

the boat has always seemed to pull real hard one direction when on plane, and can turn around to the right significantly tighter than to the left. Is this because of the bent fin?

How hard is it to replace? I no longer have a quality tige dealership in my area.

If you do a search on tracking fins, you will come up with a thread where one guy straightened his (but someone else warned that metal has a memory and that the repaired fin will be weaker) and another thread where there is a link to a site that sells them (and other underwater gear.)

I will look for the threads, but I suck at searching.

What is this tracking fim week? I would like to see the pic. I straightend one of mine that got tweaked with no problems. I doubt its causing your steering problem but it could. When minw was bent boat drove fine someone else noticed mine was bent when they saw boat on trailer. I have no idea how long it was bent but it never affected the way the boat drove.

Almost every tow boat has tracking fins, so not need to locate a Tige dealer. If its only slightly out of line, I would try and persuade it back in line before replacing. Wrap the fin with a rag and use a large pipe wrench.

I dug up that other thread and posted on it haha. I really think how the fin is bent, comes into play in how it affects the boats performance.

I had one slightly bent... Used a rubber dead blow hammer got it back straight.
