Boat runs fine for first 10 min or so, then in idle the alarm continues to sound and the engine stalls. At higher speeds it runs fine, but at low speeds I get these two symptoms. The mercruiser manual says there are 3 reasons the alarm will sound: low oil pressure, hot engine, or hot trans fluid. I've ruled out those three causes. The engine was also just tuned up to include replacing spark plugs and distributer cap. Any ideas?

Does it have a knock sensor? Maybe that is not making a good connection. Just throwing that out there, not sure. -
I have had issues with my idle speed being real low at times. It has intermittently set off my low oil pressure alarm. I changed spark plugs and wires and it cleaned itself up.Comment

Ours stays very consistent at idle.
Check out the IAC - Idle Air Control valve (710-803149) which may be causing a low idle RPM.

What is the reading for your oil pressure?
Ours sits at 18 psi at idle.
The oil pressure sensor for the alarm is not the same sender used for the gauge.
Also, the water temp sensor is not the same as the sender used for the gauge.
I have not seen a sensor for the the trans fluid temp.
In fact, I have added my own sensor and alarm.
Low fuel pressure can also trigger the alarm, but I don't think it's the same sound from the alarm as the low oil pressure sound.
At idle it's not likely a low fuel pressure issue.Comment
