    Automatic Bilge??

Hi All, looking for some assistance, just bought a 2006 22VE and have had it out a couple of times, just wondering when the auto bilge pump will come on, and what position the dash switch needs to be in?

I have had to turn the pump on a couple of times and there appeared to be quite a bit of water there, just wondering how much until the auto bilge comes on?

    Thanks in advance.

The water has to come up enough to trip the float in the automatic bilge. The light will come on if that happens. One sure way to know would be to test it with the plug in while the boat is parked in your driveway. A lot depends on where your bilge pump is located. The V-drive hulls are actually deepest in the middle of the boat, right beneath the gas tank.

Wondering the same thing. Mine never seems to come on automatically, so I'm not sure if it has a float or not. Where is the float located? I pulled the boat out of the water the other day and drove home only to find out that i left the pump on when i went to cover it. Hopefully it didn't cause any damage.

Bilge floats are bad about not working after a few years. the float gets stuck. My 09 ve rarely ever comes on. Only time I have seen it run is on the boat ramp puttin in or pullin boat out.

Shouldn,t hurt the pump because most bilge pumps have sealed bearings. I had a stand up jet ski with dual pumps and the switch got water in it and would run the pumps all the time and they never burned up. Had to disconnect the battery until I got a new switch.
