I have a 1999 21v and I want to replace the carpet. The cover over the fuel tank will be easy enough but I'm concerned with the parts that are glued in. How hard is it to replace?

I just replaced the carpet in my '99 21v last week and it was not to bad. I only had to replace the carpet in the main passenger area and not any on the sides or in the lockers. Just pull the old carpet out in one piece, if you can. Then use that as a template for your new piece and cut a couple of inches out around the perimeter to make sure it covers everything. The hardest thing is triming up the edge on the floor where the seat fiberglass meets the carpet, since there is nothing to hide the edge you have to cut it clean and make sure you glue right up to the edge so it doesn't pull up in the future. A little tip if you wait a day to trim up the edges it is easyier because the carpet doesn't slide on the fresh glue. Hope this helps and let me know if you need more details.

Fit to be Tige- I will try to get some pics up by this weekend. Froadin- No I didn't have a problem getting the old glue up. Most of it comes up with the old carpet and whatever doesn't you can just use a paint scraper and it come off pretty easy. The glue I used was I believe Henry brand outdoor carpet glue from lowe's it is about $12 a gallon and it says it works on boat decks and fiberglass, it seems to work great and 1 gallon was more than enough. I'm sure that 3m product will work great if not better.
