Has anyone replaced the starter on a RZ4 with the ZR409 6.0L? Did you have to take the exhaust manifold assembly off to access it? And yes, I’ve ruled out all other culprits and singled out as a bad solenoid.

The answer is this: you need to pull the ignition coil bracket off, then remove the hose for the coolant intake from the manifold and drain all the coolant out. Then remove the 6 nuts from the studs connecting the manifold to the crossover piece. Then remove the manifold. This will give you access to the starter. You’ll need a new round gasket for the crossover piece ($70) and a new gasket for between the manifold and block. And refill coolant. It’s not as daunting as I thought it would be.
