    2016RZX 2:1 Transmission

Has anyone installed the 2:1 transmission to replace the 1:5 to1? My local dealer said they would do it for me but have never done one before. They are contacting Tige to see what all is involved for the swap. My boat is struggling to get up to speed with a crew of 10. No one on the boat weighs over 200 except for me. Mostly families. I'm boating on Lake Tahoe which is around 6500' elevation. I have a high altitude prop already. With what a newer boat costs and mine having little hours and basically a flawless boat, I'm leaning toward keeping it and doing this swap. TIA

There is way more involved than just a new trans. You will need a new shaft, strut, shaft angle will need to be changed(fiberglass and gel work), and a lot more I'm not thinking of. You are much better off just to find a boat with more power. I know for a fact tige is going to tell them not to.

Better off starting with what prop you're running. Going to guess the factory 15x12?

I'm running a high altitude prop. A newer boat loaded up like mine would cost tens of thousands more than I could get out of mine, plus I really like the boat. I'll see what my dealer comes up with.
