      WABoating...pls don't let my posts or anything take away from your excitement for your new boat. I hope that is understood completely. We recently bought our Tige and wish it would have been our first boat!! It is awsome!!!! You will have great times on that boat you have. Looks pretty cool. I was willing to travel but I didn't have to go across the country though.

      You will find a solution that you are happy with I am sure. But hearing you might go an entire season with out thinking more seriously about this matter made me want to ask questions and put a few more of my pennies in the conversation. Remember it's only my opinion and sometimes its worth something and other times it's not with the time to read it. Just want to help is all. Love all the questions you have been asking...I am learning more and more each day.

        I'm already happy! I'm just exploring options to become even happier! {grin}

        Me too, which is the reason for all the questions. I'm thankful folks here are so patient.

As I recall, a second dummy port installed symmetrically would only be inches away from the first one. I'm also concerned about having the FAE downpipe so close to the back of the TAPS plate. Finally, I already have the CAT exhaust system so the main reason for the FAE would be noise reduction.

          My current plan is to run stock next season and see how it goes. I can always figure out an FAE solution later. I have talked to Larry (nice guy, answers his phone promptly) and I'm going to send him photos so he can see how my boat is laid out.
          You will not need the FAE with the Cat motor but you will appreciate the noise reduction!

            Getting back to the original "water in motor" issue, a pulley seized on my 2002 merc 350 this summer. It quikly melted off the bearings and the belt fell off. Within seconds the alarm went off and I shut it down.

            After replacing the pulley, the boat would not start. Long story short... I eventually pulled the plugs and water came flowing out. Water was also in the oil. The mechanic thought that when the pulley fell off, the motor might have spun bacwards before shutting down, sucking water into the motor.

            After drying out the cylinders and an oil change it ran fine. I gave it 4 more oil changes that week until the oil came out looking normal.

              WABoating... have some pictures for you. There is no need generally, it seems, to have a dummy port to have FAE on.

              I know all the peeps out there that don't have a form of the FAE on their boats seem to think it will rip right off or is somehow flimsy but they are not. Yes, you could rip it off if you hit something or just were just rough on your boat and didn't take care of what you are doing. But practising good boating should be all someone needs to do to have years of trouble free time with it on. Just like anything on your boat, you should inspect it from time to time and make sure things are as they should be. Just like keeping a wrench on the boat to tighten the Ski Pylon.

              Hope this helps WABoating.

                The owner of FAE, when I spoke to him on the phone, did say he prefers to have a two-port mounting system. He considers it stronger and more reliable. However, your photos make it clear it's not absolutely necessary.

                Thanks!

                  We have sold approximaely 100 Nautique single outlet exhaust FAEs and a few Tige single outlet exhaust FAEs. We are confident in the single exhaust mounting for the Tige.
