    oops!

While fueling my '07 24ve from a 5 gal gas can, a 3/4" X 8" piece of thin plastic tubing that I had attached to the gas can nozzle came off and fell into the fuel line. Anyone know if this is something I need to remove? If so, where would I start? Is there a screen before the tank or a clean-out on the tank? It is a 48 gal tank. Any help is appreciated.

I think you will be OK, it sounds like it is big enough not to intefere with your suction

Thanks for the amazingly quick reply! Is the suction a vertical tube in the tank bottom or more of a flat drain?

Don't get me to Lying you will have to wait for that reply. I just don't think that the 8" tube will mess with you

I dont think there is a screen.

It shouldnt be hard to get the hose off. Might still be stuck in the fill hose. Couple of hose clamps, remove the hose and shake the plastic tubing out.

If it went into the tank then you could have a issue of possibly damaging the sender or pump if it sloshed and whacked it hard enough.

Personally I would want it out of there.

there is not a screen so it is mosy likely in the tank. odds of it causing you a porblem slim IMPO..as long as the hose was a fuel resitant hose to start with if not it will break down in the tank and that could casue issues. as far as damage to the sending unit I dont see that being and issue it wont float it will just roll around on the bottom of the tank. you would have to pull the floor up to gain access to the tank remove sending unit an try to fish the hose out of the hole.worst case have to remove tank to remove hose. If it were me and the hose was fuel resistant I would leave it untill I had to haave the floor up for whatever reason.
