My 2001 21V was leaking some water into the bilge and the rudder box was a prime suspect. There’s a nice write up on wake garage about removing and rebuilding the rudder box with the Marine Hardware seals.

If you want to go one better, have Tim at Glide Bearings do a rudder box blueprint. The Marine Hardware seal kit is $60 and will stop your leaking rudder box. Alternatively, for $175 Glide Seal will completely transform your rudder box into a slop-free and airtight unit. The difference in steering tightness and ease of turning is surprisingly noticeable. Huge upgrade over stock.
