I just bought a 2008 Z1 with the 5.7L 340 engine. This is my first boat so I will be on here with a ton of questions. TIA for all the help I will receive on here. I was checking around the engine compartment and noticed a quarter sized hole in the top of the starter. I can see the gear inside. I thought surely there cant just be an open hole in here? After searching around for manuals I believe there should be a rubber plug that goes in there and that hole is to lubricate the starter periodically. Can anyone send me a pic of the top of their starter or engine? Can anyone confirm there should be a rubber plug here?
