I have been looking for a good, clean used v-drive for 6 weeks. I finally found a tige2100V that I really liked, until I open the engine compartment and found about 8 inches of water in it. Also in the battery and storage. Does this pose a huge problem? The owner is a college student and just looked confused. Please, any advice would be appreciated

probably looking at a series of issues. starting with all the electric items on the engine, starter, alternator, distributor cap and rotor. these do not like moisture, whether it be submerged or just condensation. also the steering cable is probably done. most likely he stored the boat with the bilge plug in. buyer beware:Greg Denton

Whenever you buy any boat, it's always best to pay the $$$ to have someone check it out. If water's been sitting in the boat, then either the automatic bilge is not working or has been turned off because you should never have that much water in the bilge. My guess is that you'll have to replace the steering cable (not a big deal) because it will begin to corrode over time and tighten up.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

I had a 2002 21V and I really liked the hull. Some people bag on the spray pockets, but they were a non-issue unless you put 2000k+ ballast in it. I'm not sure when that version of hull came out, but I know the 2001 and 2002 were the same hull.Be excellent to one another.
