Perfect Pass for 20V

Good Afternoon all, I have been looking into the Perfect Pass Star Gazer for my 2006 20V. I was curious if anyone has any experience with this system or thoughts and concerns. My 20V came with the cruise control system from Tige, but I am looking to upgrade from this system.

I have stargazer and love it. If you are in current you need to adjust accoringly but very easy to do so.
You won't be sorry with this upgrade.

What were the Speedset issues?

Is your engine Drive by Wire or Mechanical? Just curious as I have found out that Perfect Pass won't work with my 2006 20i w/ Vortec/Marinepower DBW engine. Sounds like my only option is Tige Speedset; just curious if you like it or not? Thanks.

Why wouldn't Perfect pass work on your boat? Who told you that?

I installed the StarGazer last year and love it. I had been experiencing some wackiness on the Brazos river but I hadnt even considered the current! That explains alot.

Mark at Perfect Pass. Here is his response........

Unfortunately we do not support this engine. You will have a very hard time getting the proper ECM software from Marine Power and we're not even sure it's available. Also, some of these 2006 boats are wired for Perfectpass, some are not. Of the boats wired for Perfectpass we've seen many wiring errors which will prevent Perfectpass from working and takes a lot of time and a volt meter to figure out and fix. To top it all off some of these boats have a feedback wire connected to the main Perfectpass control line. If this is connected we will need to find the wire and cut it or Perfectpass will surge.

Even though we've successfully installed systems on these engines the problem boats are to much.

Sorry to hear that about your 06 MP from Mark.
I used to own an 06 22V and the Speedset was the only thing about the boat I did not like. It was not operator friendly and only worked 50% of the time at best. It totally sucked A$$.

I agrree that Speedset could be improved on as far as setting it but I have had no issues with mine once it was re-flashed with updated software. My ony issue is to not engage it until you have rider up, get to riders speed and then set it. Otherwise it accelerates too hard if you give it full throttle control.

I have used Perfect Pass on brothers MC and it is nice but his is 10 years old and no real bells or whistles. It is easier to set up the speed you want and select when rider is up.
