PerfectPass not working!

    PerfectPass not working!

    I have had no luck this last summer when trying to use the Cruise control mechanism. It is the two button and the flashing LED. I can never get it to engage. The boat is a 2001 and has been well maintained as far as I know...Is there anything that can break on this system that regularly goes out after 8-10 seasons? Also any insider tips on the Riders Edition 2001 21V would be of great help. She is winterized for the time being...but I just bought a new wakeboard and plan on being on the water in about 2 more months... Hurry up Spring!

    Have you contacted perfect pass yet? I would start there, hear they have great customer service.

      If you are setting it correctly its probably a servo. In your engine compartment attatched to the throttle linkage is a black servo motor. On this servo you will find a black knob, this knob should be able to turn freely. If not your servo is shot. Also, when you turn your key on this servo should auto tighten, so if it is working you will see it move.

      This may or may not be your problem, but its common, so we will start here.

        Awesome... that will be one of the first things I check once I get her out of winterization. I'm hoping it is something small because I hear the sytems can be on the expensive side. I hate when we are boarding though and the boat continues to bog down or speed up. Will the Perfect pass help keep that speed or is the model that i have not going to be able to compensate? Thanks for all the input...

          That version isn't made to compensate for speed. What the version you have does is just hold constant RPM. So there could definitely be some variability in speed.
