    2100v vs 22ve

    Hi

I was wondering if someone can tell me the differences between a
    2100v vs 22ve?

What sort of differences are you interested in? Mechanical, wake, options, seating capacity, price, or what?

I don't know much about the 2100v. It is an older 21-foot model (not sure of the years it was offered). Here is a page with some basic specs on model years 1997 and newer: http://tigeowners.com/model_specs.php

The 22Ve is a 22-footer offered only since 2006. Visually, the Ve boats have the "transom activity center" where the transom curves back aft at the top. I think the Ve boats use a newer hull design that has a greater amount of Convex V "rocker" shape.

Wish I could give you more info, but if you explain a little more about what kind of info you are interested in, then I'm sure that folks with greater knowledge will weigh in on the topic tomorrow.

The 21V was last offered in 2002 I believe, then it became the 22V. The 21V in 02 was 21' 2" and wighted about 4K and had a 102" beam. The 22Ve is 22', 102 beam, and weights about 4k lb's. Up to 02, the 21V had a 100" beam and weighted about 400 lb's less. Engines were prolly all Merc for the 21V and Marine Power in the Ve till 09 when PCM was offered.

Looks and option wise, these 2 boats are worlds apart. The Ve models also have a far more developed Convex-V hull then the 21V, not even sure if Tige used the term "Convex-V" yet back in 02, but either way, the Ve hull is far better for wakeboarding and surfing and still rides smooth as glass for cruising.

Thanks guys, I'm searching for a Tige boat and seen some pics of the 2100v and was wondering if it is as good as a 22ve.

I own a 2001, 21V- the boat is 21'8" long and became the 22V the following year. Dimensions havn't changed significantly. The hull on the 22VE doesn't have spray pockets- it's the only significant difference in the boat models. Also Tige moved completely away from wood in the 22VE series and also to new towers. I really like to 22ve- but it's frankly not enough of a change for me to consider upgrading. The boats are very well built and the only issues i've really have with it have been basic maintenance- except the sterring cable, which is a common complaint with Tiges.

Yes, the 21v had wood stringers heavily encapsulated in fiberglass. Also have a wood floor. I love my 2000 21v and have had no problems except normal boat problems. Great boats, but like all boats they need to be regularly maintained. Always check out if they were regularly maintained and cared for.

Thanks for the info on the stringers and floor. What year if any did they get away from wood? May be looking at a 05 22v this weekend. Above someone thought it was in 06. Just curious. Thanks.

I believe tige went all composite in 04. But im not sure. In 04 it might have just been composite stringers.

No wood in an 05. I'd be more concerned with how a boat was cared for then wood, especially one that's only 8-9 yrs old. I'd buy with no hesitations if it looked like the owner took care of it.

If it has a notched transom, Tige calls it the "Transom Activity Center" it's a "Ve" and will be an 06 or newer. If it a sloping transom, it's a "V" nd could be an 05 or 06.
