Comments on the 2001 TIGE' 2100V LIMITED

Anyone have any comments on the 2001 TIGE' 2100V LIMITED. There is one available that's pretty reasonably priced, but it's not local to me.

Is it any good for Wakeboarding? Seems to have a low freeboard.

BTW, the reason I bring up the freeboard is not because I think it will affect the wake as much as I'm affraid it will take water over it too easily.

I just got a 2001 21V Riders Edition (same boat) and love it! - we got a really good deal on it.

For a boat this old, I don't think you can find a better wakeboarding boat. Its one of the few boats back then that was designed for wakeboarding. The Tige 21V got wakeboard boat of the year in 1999. The 23V got it in 2000 and Tige was the official towboat for the World wakeboard championships in 2000. In 2002, they were named the official world wakeboard championship towboat.

The surf wake is awesome! I posted some pics of the wake on this forum

I just read that if these boats have a mercruiser engine there are some electrical problems associated with them. Any comments on that?

I have a 2000 and have owned it since 02. Have had almost no problems with it. What has gone wrong are things that can go wrong on any boat. Freeboard, go sit in a Tige and then the others. When we got ours, we had kids at home. We never worry about anyone falling over...jumping over would be more like it. Also, the seats are higher off of the floor. You don't feel like your knees are at ear level. Very safe and comfortable boat. Handles rough water like no other and solid as a rock. If the boat you are looking at has a tower, it may be its only weak point, however I have had only one problem with mine and it was easily repaired. Try to find one in your area to look at, you won't be dissapointed.

            X2 - what Laserfish said.

We have had ours since 2006 and it has about 160 hrs.
Have not had any electrical problems.
The freeboard is great and seating is very comfortable.
It's the low nose where the water will come in.
Once we figured out how to turn after stopping we haven't taken water over the nose unless we wanted to (heh, heh).

                We love ours.
Now if your not paying attention when you do a turn around while surfing you will add to you ballast water.
Mine runs great, wake boards great and surfs great.

Here is one in DFW area. Notice the cracks in the gelocoat next to the tower? Anyone having issues with that?

I have the cracks in my 02 22i R, they showed up after a 600 mile tow, they have not expanded. Dont seem to be structural, but will probably have them filled this off season. Interested to hear from others
