    Manufacturer Recall on My Boat

Just got called by my local dealer and was informed there was a recall on my boat that needs to be done as quickly as possible. When I asked they said something to do with the fuel system which is never good.

So I am dropping the boat off tomorrow morning to have whatever needs to be done, done.

Anyone else know about a recall? Is this recall tied to a particular engine in the boat?

Yes, the recall is regarding the location of the fuel cooler, its too far from the pickup and can cause a vacuum buildup. It affects only some of the MarinePower EFI (5.7 and 6.0) engines using the new low-pressure fuel pump. It is a simple fix, takes about 20 minutes. All dealers have the list of serial numbers that need the recall.

      Thanks

for the information on the recall. The dealer only said it had to do with the fuel system and the person I talked with did not have any more details.

I do have the 5.7 engine and my serial is apparently affected. The dealer did notify me promptly which is good.

it has nothing to do with fuel itself. it has to do with the water flowing to the cooler. no big deal

I haven't gotten a call yet, do you know what years and models were effected?

it's for the 05' marine power engine. only a hand full got out of the factory. most likely they are still sitting under shrinkwrap waiting to be sold at a dealership. like i said, no worries

No worries? I got my '05 Marine Power powered Tige last fall. I am guessing I am part of the recall but have not yet received any notices on that. Strange, I will have to track that down for sure.

I hauled my boat to the dealer and when the dealer got around to doing the recall (had to wait for parts) it turns out that the it was not necessary. The change had already been installed on my boat. Mine was ordered in early February and received about two months later. So I suspect that all boats after February have the change already installed.

For the most part, it seems like boats that have only been built within the last 2-3 months are affected, and only about 50 boats total.
