Ya, driving is the issue. I got pissed at it on the road trip to Whiskeytown during Memorial Weekend that I slammed it shut when I stopped for gas in the Expedition. Only to find out later that my wakeboard's edge got munched and had to repair it because it was chipped.

My 22ve has the snap and it works perfect. It took me a while to figure out why the cushion/door was blowing open but then I noticed the snap and snapped it shut. Now it stays shut. You can get those snaps from any upholstery place. They just screw on.

Here are the pictures that I have.

The white circles on the gelcoat and the backside of the seat is velcro The nylon straps are attached via screws and washers to make sure the straps stays put.

Same issue with my 22Ve. I tried to fix the snap, but could never get it to line up correctly. My fix...

Where the snap was on the fiberglass, I replaced it with one flush, undercut screw and 1" flat washer. On the cusion itself, I used two part epoxy to secure a black 1" magnet. It's hardly noticeable on the back of the cushion, closes with ease, and stays shut on the fwy.

BTW, I have some hard disk drive magnets that you can epoxy to the boat. Good luck getting the cushion open

I have access to snaps and nylon so I think I'll make one.

Don't know why you're all making such a fuss over this neat features. Don't you know it's a Bond-style ejector seat for unruly passengers?

And here is my solution. A piece of nylon webbing and some snaps. When the strap is not in use for towing while on the water I snap it to the inside of the compartment door out of the way.
