Could still be the sending unit, I was lucky enough to have mine malfunction while still under warranty so FIC got to fix it, it was the sending unit and not the gauge.

True, it could be the sending unit still. They do go bad.

Thanks for the tips. I'm trying the "adjust" route first. My tank wasn't full after the weekend and I estimated the gallons used at 19. The gauge was at 3/4. I dialed it to 1/2.

When I got the boat back together to drop it in the lake, it took 26 gallons with a 40 gallon tank. I was off! No wonder we run out on the water with no gauge!

Now that it is full and I know I'm closer, I'll tweak it one more time (another half hour disassembly/reassembly).

BTW: In case you are reading the thread and wondering, if I were to need to buy a new sending unit, mine would be the 2 wire version, since the ground is attached directly to the tank in my 03 22V.

Another side project presented itself since the glue had failed holding the foam insulation to the center fiberglass section. I contact cemented it back in place. Some of the glue holding the carpet in place is also failing on the edges of the tank floor panel. Having these adhesives handy will save a redo later.
