    Tower ID & Cover

I bought this 2003 21i used a couple of years ago. I was never really concerned with what brand tower was on it because, well it worked!

My boat cover needs to be replaced and I am having trouble figuring out what type of tower is on my boat... Can anyone identify it?

Part two: Any recomendations on what type/brand cover. I need something that can stand up to the elements since the boat is often stored outside.

    Thanks for the help!

For our previous boat, I had a local guy design a custom cover using Sunbrella material.

It wasn't cheap because of his hours creating the pattern for the cover but it worked great. I was initially sticker-shocked but once I thought about the investment in the boat and the replacement cost for the vinyl, the cost was a bit easier to justify.

I think it's a Metcraft tower, it looks like the one I have on my 2004.

Definitely a Metcraft tower...they started putting this style tower on boats at the end of 2002.

My recommendation is to get a custom fit cover for a boat without a tower and then to to a local canvas shop and have them do the cut-outs for the tower. That's what I did. I went with a Westland cover, sharkskin to be specific. These covers are very well made and light weight.

wakeandbake, No trial and error ordering my cover. I actually called Tige and gave them my hull number - they gave me the original part number they used to order the OEM covers from Westland. I then call Westland who suggested several distributors and I used Coversearch - the part number I ordered was exactly the one used by Tige except without the last letter. The Tige cover had the logo screened on it and Westland would not sell the cover direct like that. FYI - They offer the cover in 3 fabrics including sunbrella, but I went with mid grade sharkskin. Hope this helps, good luck.
