Not to add insult to injury, but this a great time to reinforce the need for transom ty-downs and also an "Oh-Sh!t" chain up front, for those who say "no need for all that, as heavy as my bout is, it will never come off the trailer"

This happened a few years ago. I have put a turn buckle on in front since. Oh, and never say never.

Here in CA, if you run into something in the road, it's your fault not the person who dropped/left the item in the road.

^^^ That way in most states, files under your Collision. The driver can be ticketed (here anyway) if caught, for an unsecured load. Your insurance would more them likely settle the claim, then go after the other driver who lost the object.

But if you say the item was moving and fell out of a vehicle in front of you its a comprehensive claim. Found that out a few months ago driving home from havasu at night. All of a sudden I saw some sparks on the road and a black void coming at me. It was a card table that flew out of the beverley hillibiliies truck in front of me. The leg of the table went though my grill and the table hit the top of the truck. Claims adjuster told me that if I hit a stationary object it would be under colision but since it fell out of another vehicle and was moving it was a comp claim.

Sorry to go off topic. I know nothing on how to repair bent tracking fins

Hey, one thing that's fairly easy to do is add a safety chain to your trailer that you hook from the trailer to the bow eye hook, in addition to the strap and hook you have now. The other thing you can do is add butt straps that attach to the lift rings on the back of your boat and then strap it to the rear of your trailer.

The first option is easier to remember because it's right there as you winch the boat onto the trailer. The butt straps are a pain because they lift rings are above the swim platform, which tends to get in the way.

I'm retarded. I deleted my pictures from earlier in this thread by accident. Here they are again. Also, the prop pictures I promised.

I would have thought the prop would look worse.

The fins and gelcoat took most of the damage. The fins were bent 90 degrees and the right side had a nice gash completely through the hull.

Was this before or after the refurb of the boat?
