    1998 21i Prop ID

I have a '98 21i with a stainless 3 blade prop. The prop is in good condition but I need to know who made it in case I have to replace in at some point. I bought a Acme 13 X 13 3 blade for it but it turned out to be too much prop and I went back to the stainless. I need to find someone, maybe Andrew, who was with Tige 10 years ago and would remember what brands were being used then. The prop has no markings except for 13 X 13 LH. This boat was a demo I bought directly from Tige in Nov. 1998 and had this prop on it. Any ideas??

The stainless prop was made by Cutter Marine. Not sure if they are still around. You should try an Acme 13X11.5 prop.

I'm with lee on this. Try the Acme 525. It's an awesome prop.

Would this be the same prop for a 2000 21i?

Yup. Both hulls are pretty much identical from that perspective. Take a look at the pics of the props. You'll see how much bigger the 3-blade is.

              Ooops, I lied. I said:

The stainless is a 13 x 13. What I should have said is that I bought the 13 X 12 Acme, model 515 which is similar to what you guys are recommending. The 515 is too much prop for my boat. It gives less of a holeshot and stalls slightly which you fully accelerate while at 30 mph. I call this prop my $1100 prop because I paid about $350 for it from Acme, brought $100 prop puller, paid $250 to fix the prop after a kid grounded it on some rocks at scout camp (long story) and then $400 to have the engine checked out for poor performance after the running the rebuilt prop for a summer. The result of the engine was the engine was fine. Switching back to the stainless resolved the stalling so the prop is now in its box on the floor in the garage.
So, I don't mind buying a 525 but I need some kind of assurance I can return it if it doesn't work as it has only a 1/2" less pitch than my disaster prop.
FYI, my stainless is a 13 X 13 but has smaller blades than the 525. I have picture somewhere of the two props side by side but can't locate it tonight.

They are still around. Their website (http://www.cuttermarine.com) says Tige is one of their partners. However, all I see on the website is 4 blade props.

If unsure, call ACME and they will set you up with the right prop the first time.

I had several email conversations with them about this one to start with but I think they may have been more about installation and removal problems I had with it. I just with we had a good prop shop locally that could let me borrow one and/or return it, if it wasn't any better, or in my case, worse.

You know, someone once told me I could get a good prop repair shop to change the pitch on my prop to the correct amount but I have no idea if that is possible either.
