    RE: 22i versuses 21i

I am looking to purchase either the 22i or the 21i '04 or '05, can anyone recommend one or the other and why? Were an all around H20 sporting family, h2o skiing, tubing, wake boarding etc. This will be the first COMP boat I have owned and I want to make sure its an all around water sports boat. Or do I need to look at the V drives? Thanks L

The 22i has, of course, the different seating arrangement than the 21i. That is what sold me on it since I had to have a direct drive because we slalom about 40% of the time. Both slalom wakes are decent enough to run the course, but not like a true direct drive slalom boat. I also like teh gull wing storage on the 22i vs. the storage on the 21i.

Don't get me wrong, both boats are SOLID! IF the 22i hadn't been available, I probably still woudl have bought the 21i.

Demo both of them.........ride and ski behind both before making a choice.

Both are very nice. I just liked the seating arrangement better in the 22. Definately ride in both.

        we went with the 21I

since we were really in the market for a v-drive but didn't want to pay for the v-drive. We went with the 21I since it still had a small, but functional sun deck that my wife could layout on while at our party cove. The storage on the 21i is also wonderful. But as already stated, both boats were great and I would have been happy with either.

We went with the 22I. We liked the seating arrangement better then the 21I. It's very roomy with lots of storage and the steps on the back save a lot of wear and tear on the seats. As long as it's a Tige', you cant go wrong.

I have a mixed bag of users....wakeboard, ski, tube, and recently even barefoot. I went with the 21i and have been completely satisfied. Although, I must admit the steps on the 22 would be nice.

The steps on the 22i are nice but in the heat, forget even using them. On the 04's they used a black texturized rubber that when stepped on will leave a burnt impression on the sole of your feet or leave your footprint and skin stuck to the step. You can decide which is worse...

I have the 21i and LOVE it. I've never been in a 22i, but I hear they are nice. I know the next time I buy a boat, I"m gonna demo them!!

don't make the mistake I did and not take a test ride/pull if you are a skier. I had the most excellent 95 Tige 2000slm and lost it in a divorce. Went right down to my local Tige dealer (thats a whole other story) and bought a 21i sitting on the showroom floor. The sales guy told me the wake on the 21i was better for skiing because this has TAPS and the 2000slm did not. Boy, was he wrong. Sure the TAPS changes the wake, but what was left is very hard. This is great for the wakeboarders, but not so good for us slalom skiers.

Took it back the next day but was told, sorry, thats the way it is. The fine folks at Tige were nice enough to tell me all the differences between my 2000slm and the 21i, but now I have a boat I don't ski behind. Just glad my brother-n-law still has a 86 Ski Centurion to ski behind.

Like I said, it's a great wakeboard boat and a fabulous boat all around. You can't beat Tige quality for the money. If you are an aggressive skier, look at something else.
