Is anyone out there routinely skiing behind the 22i? Taking it through the course? I'm curious how it performs, tracks, erases any signs it was there, considering it's weight and girth.

i'm not much of a skier but when unweighted and at speed our 22i would make for a great ski boat. the wake is just a tiny bit bigger than a solely ski oriented boat. it handles wonderfully though. stays nice and flat in turns at speed or not and the wakes dissapate pretty rapidly. mine is an '01 so its one of biggest heaviest years they made. we have the weaker of the two 350c.i. engines it only puts out 315hp. however, with 2000lbs of added weight it still makes a very strong, quick hole shot pull. skiing behind it should be a breeze plus it has great crossover potential. hope that helps a little.

The newer ones wont be as good as his because they changed the Hulls since '01. Which have more rocker and isnt as good for slalom skiing. If you want clsoe to tournament quality stick with the 20 or get a 21i.Common Sense is not so Common
Looking for fat chicks for long walks, romance, cheap buffets, and BALLAST.

Well that's good to know. I've got a 20i now, but love the seating arrangement in the 22i. If it was even close to the same skiing performance it would be nice to have the extra room.

I would think the added beam would make it easier to support the extra 600lbs. Maybe that's just optimism.

I have an 04 22i and my wife skis a bit. I ski about once a year. I'd say the wake is fairly flat at about 32 mph, taps at 1. The down fall would be that the wake is pretty wide??
We had a 20' Centurion Falcon and that had an excellent wake. We bought this boat due to it's unique seating and versitility. Haven't looked back!

I have a 2002 22i. I used to ski behind it but now my wife is the only one that skis. I just stick to boarding. I ran it through the course when I first bought it in 02. It did fine, but you have to ski it really fast. I usually skied at no less than 34mph.......mostly 36.
My wife free skis at 33-34mph and with the rope at 15-22 off. This seems to be ideal for her to maintain speed through the wake but it is still a decent bump to negotiate. I was looking at both the 21i and the 22i, but just really loved the seating with the 22...........if I was to buy another boat, I would definitely consider the 22i again, but also the (not to cause anyone to get upset here....lol) Mastercraft X-14........I like the layout of that boat, plus I heard the ski wake was top notch for its size.
But you really have to demo and ski it yourself. I made sure the dealer let me take my skis and boards to try it out when I did a demo before I made a decision.

Yes, I have skiied into 32 off and the wake had a nice sweet spot, and basically no bump.......a little spray, but not bad at all. My wife has skiied at 28 off but she prefers 22 off, but she also has never run the course.
All this talk of skiing might get me to dust off the stick and take a run this summer! I just wish I had a course that was accessible.....
